PUK co-leader and Iraqi Parliament Speaker reiterate on the importance of fulfilling the constitutional obligations to solve problems between the federal gov’t and KRG

PUK co-chair Lahur Talabany and Speaker of Iraqi Parliament Mohamed al-Halbousi stressed on adherence with dialogue and constitutional law to resolve issues.
On Wednesday, Sep 2, the co-leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Lahur Talabany, with his accompanying delegation met up with Iraqi Parliament Speaker, Mohamed al-Halbousi, in Baghdad.
The PUK delegation included Member of PUK Executive Body Rzgar Ali, Head of PUK Foreign Relations Soran Jamal Tahir, and Member of PUK politburo Rzgar Haji Hama, Head of PUK Organization Bureau of Baghdad, and PUK faction in Iraqi parliament.
The meeting focused on the relation between Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and ways to resolve the outstanding issues existing between Erbil and federal government.
“In that meeting we shed light on the relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad and solving the suspended issues. We both reiterated the importance of fulfilling the constitutional obligations to solve the problems between the federal government and the Kurdistan regional government.” PUK co-leader Lahur Talabany wrote.
Both sides reiterated on the necessity of completing preparations for an early election, and the electoral procedure to be held in a way to bring Iraq toward more political stability and security.
“We emphasized the need to complete all the preparations for the upcoming elections.” Talabany pointed out.
Furthermore, Halbousi appreciated the PUK politburo and co-leaders’ role that were always ready to treat issues.
