Baghdad: PUK Co-leader Lahur Talabany discusses several files with Iraqi political leaders

PUK Co-leader Lahur Talabany visited the Iraqi capital Baghdad, on Thursday, Oct 23, and met up with a number of leaders of political parties.

In order to discuss important files related to Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, Lahur Sheikh Jangi, the Co-Leader of the PUK, visited Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Fatah Alliance.

During the meeting, they discussed the current political situation in Iraq, the threats facing security and stability in the country, the financial crisis, and the need to enhance coordination and cooperation between political parties.

In another aspect of the meeting, the Co-Leader of the PUK and the head of the Fatah Alliance discussed the security situation in the provinces of Kirkuk and Diyala, and stressed the need to strengthen coordination between the PUK and the Fatah Alliance in this regard.

The Co-Leader of the PUK also received Salim al-Jubouri, head of the Civil Rally for Reform Party and his accompanying delegation.

During the meeting, they discussed the current political situation in Iraq, the upcoming elections, the electoral law, in addition to the situation in Diyala Governorate.

Mr. Lahur Sheikh Jangi also received a delegation of Sunni leaders from different governorates.

During the meeting, the political situation in Iraq in general and the conditions of the liberated areas (areas that were in control of ISIS in 2014-2017) in particular were discussed. The two sides stressed the need for more coordination with the new leadership of the PUK in the disputed areas.

The PUK Co-Leader received Sheikh Ahmed Abu Risha, head of the Iraq Awakening Conference, and his accompanying delegation.

During their meeting, they discussed the situation in the liberated areas in general and Anbar Governorate in particular.
