PUK co-leader received Iraqi Minister of Youth and Sport Adnan Darjal and his accompanying delegation, Thursday, Nov 26.

Regarding their meeting, PUK co-leader wrote on his Facebook account: "In the meeting, I reiterated the importance of cooperation between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad with regards to sports and reaffirmed my support for any reform process and improvements in sports in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq. I relayed to the delegation that Slemani is a city full of energy and activity, and different from the other cities."

He also added: "As the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, we have put our efforts forth to aid sports and players in Kurdistan to the best of our capabilities and have presented to the city an international stadium. I asked the Minister of Youth and Sport to be supportive and place importance on sports in the Kurdistan Region and transfer some of the sporting tournaments and championships to the Kurdistan Region and not allow for sports to be mixed with political conflicts."
