Deputy PM of Kurdistan Region meets up with James Cleverly, denying using budget in political disputes

On Tuesday, Dec 1, Deputy Prime Minister in the Kurdistan Region, Qubad Talabani, received a senior British delegation consisting of James Cleverly, British Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa Affairs, and Stephen Hickey, the British ambassador to Iraq.
During the meeting, they discussed the Erbil-Baghdad relation, and economic issues existing between the two sides.
“I appreciated the Britain’s attitude for their readiness to aid in resolving the issues between Erbil and Baghdad, and denying the usage of budget and financial share of Kurdistan Region as a political card.” Qubad Talabani wrote in his Facebook account.

Talabani also added: “I explained to James Cleverly, British Minister of State for Middle East affairs, Kurdistan Regional delegation will soon head to Baghdad to further negotiate over treating the issues.”
Concerning the relation between Kurdistan Region and United Kingdom, the Deputy PM said: “I welcomed the idea of expanding and variegating the relation between Kurdistan Region and UK, particularly in the sectors of culture, tourism and trading.”
