Kurdistan Region’s Interior Ministry issued a statement to end smuggling in the border crossings of the region.

The Interior Ministry said in its statement that both Ministers of Interior and Peshmarga have met up in Erbil to discuss the pattern of implementing the decision of the Kurdistan Region’s Council of Ministers regarding the formation of a special force to end the phenomenon of smuggling in the border crossings.

It was also said that both ministers have agreed on the mechanisms of the force’s formation and distribution of their roles, and the decision to form it is supposed to begin soon.
