On Wednesday, March 24, PUK Co-leader Bafel Talabani held a meeting with the Old Peshmerga Association, at PUK political bureau.

During the meeting, Bafel Talabani appreciated the bright golden history of veterans, stating that "Our experience today is the outcome of the struggle and sacrifices of the brave Peshmergas. The leadership of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan looks with respect and pride at the struggle of the Peshmerga and will be loyal to them and their struggle for Kurdistan."

He then touched on the important role of the Old Peshmerga Association, asserting that they must still fight with the same spirit so as to turn this phase into triumph and a more prosperous life.

PUK Co-leader explained the program and strategy of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, reiterating that PUK backs unity and joint attitude with the political parties and forces, and believes in co-working with the purpose of serving better the people of Kurdistan. "The history of PUK is full of sacrifices for this land, therefore we will not sacrifice this history for personal and partisan interests, and all our efforts are focused on providing a decent and stable life for the people of Kurdistan." Bafel Talabani said.
