The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the Change Movement party have formed a unified electoral alliance to participate as one list in the forthcoming parliamentary elections of Iraq scheduled for October 10, 2021.

Both parties officially registered their alliance in the Independent High Electoral Commission.The PUK and Change Movement Alliance bears the name of the Kurdistan Coalition and is headed by Lahur Talabany, Co-Leader of the PUK.

Rizgar Haji Hama, member of the PUK political bureau, said during a televised statement that Lahur Talabany took over the presidency of the Kurdistan Alliance at the request of the Co-Leader, Bafel Talabani.

"The PUK and the Change Movement will work in coordination with other political parties and will definitely obtain great success in the forthcoming elections," he said.

He also asserted, "We in the Kurdistan Alliance and in coordination with other political parties, will have joint candidates between the PUK and the Change Movement and in all provinces, districts and sub-districts,"
