Head of PUK Foreign Relations office, Dr. Soran Jamal Tahir, participates in a meeting of Socialist International via a video conference, on Saturday, May 1.

In the meeting, Sarkawt Muhammad Ghafour, PUK Leadership Council member and Head of Foreign Relations Board also attended.

Mr. Luis Ayala, Secretary General of the Socialist International, commenced the meeting with a speech, mentioning past activities of SI and stressing the significance of the Late President Mam Jalal’s role in the past activities of the Socialist International.

In the meeting, PUK representatives discussed the latest situation and developments of the Middle East as well as the economic, political, and social implications of coronavirus.

Later, they addressed the formation of a Kurdish Working Group in the Socialist International, which aims to settle, investigate, and discuss the Kurdish Dossier with other political parties and organizations that are members and observers of the Socialist International all around the world.

During the meeting, each participating representative discussed his country’s situation, and perspectives on resolving the issues were exchanged.
