On Wednesday, Deputy PM of Kurdistan Region, Qubad Talabani, received Ambassador of European Union to Iraq, Martin Huth, and Head of EU Envoy Office in Kurdistan Region.

The meeting touched upon discussing the relation between Kurdistan Region and federal government. The Deputy PM reiterated Kurdistan Region’s commitment to the Iraq’s 2021 budget law.

Another aspect of the meeting focused on the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG)’s reforms which have passed good steps. The two sides talked over the continuation of the reforms, and to include the lower levels of the administrative institutions. Qubad Talabani asked the EU countries’ support in this process as they have a good experience in that field.

Moreover, Talabani demanded form the international community to aid in the steps KRG take so as to continue in expanding the freedoms and developing the democratic values.
