The high-ranking delegation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) headed by PUK Co-Leader Bafel Talabani met up with the Iraq’s Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi, on Tuesday, in Baghdad.

The meeting touched upon the latest political developments, Ministerial Council’s tasks, legislative power, observing the powers and defending the public rights and ethnicities via parliament.

The issues shall be resolved by dialogue and common understanding, the two sides emphasized.

Regarding the issues between Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and deepening of the disputes, Bafel Talabani suggested holding national dialogue for the parties in order to reach an accord.

“The logic of minority and majority must not be practiced anymore with each other and be the ground for passing the laws, because it makes the situation worse.” Bafel Talabani said.

He further added, “We should believe drafting a new policy to govern Iraq, the constitution be the basis of relations, and no nations and ethnicities be marginalized.”
