On Saturday, July 17, the political bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) decided to hand over all powers of Lahur Shaikh Jangi as co-leader to Bafel Talabani, the co-president of PUK.

After the meeting of PUK political bureau on Thursday, it was decided that Sheikh Jangi would hand over all of his powers as co-leader to PUK co-president Talabani from Saturday.

The transfer of powers from Lahur Sheikh Jangi to Bafel Talabani will continue until the completion of amendment to the party’s by-laws.
