The Co-Leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Talabani, received on Monday the Italian Special Forces official in Iraq and Syria, General Fabro, in Slemani.

In the meeting, which was attended by the Co-Leader's military advisor, Wasta Rasul, the developments in coordination between the Kurdistan Region's Forces and the Coalition Forces, the security situation in the region, the war against terrorism in Iraq and Syria, and the elimination of the remnants of ISIS terrorists were discussed.

In another part of the meeting, Bafel Talabani appreciated the coalition forces, particularly the Italian Forces, who continued to help and support the Peshmarga in the war against terrorism and to train the Peshmarga Forces, calling for further coordination and continued assistance in organizing and unifying the military units.

"Cooperation between the Peshmarga and the Coalition Forces is very important, and we all have to cooperate in order to protect the achievements and the security of the region." PUK Co-Leader said.

He added, "There must be a greater cooperation between the forces of the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and the Coalition to ensure that there will be no security vacuum in the region."
