The Head of Kurdistan Coalition for upcoming Iraq’s parliamentary election, Qubad Talabani, held a meeting with a group of young people and youth of Kirkuk on Friday, Sep 10.
In the meeting, Qubad Talabani asked the youths to participate in the voting process and vote for the Kurdistan Coalition, “We expect Kirkuk's youth to play a major role in the campaign and vote for the Kurdistan Coalition," Talabani said.

“This election is important and fateful for the people of Kurdistan and Kirkuk, particularly as we must not let any danger befall on the Kurdistan Region's entity; that is why it is necessary to encourage voters of the city to participate in the election process and vote for candidates from the Kurdistan Coalition to thwart the plans of political forces and parties who want to prevent the Kurdish people from achieving constitutional rights in Iraq.” Talabani asserted.

Kirkuk, one of the disputed areas, which is currently ruled by the Iraqi Government, is originally a Kurdish area defined by Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution as being Arabized during the Baath regime rule in Iraq. The Arabization process is still continuing to this day but in different forms.
