On Tuesday night, ISIS millitant attacked the village of al-Rashad in the district of Al-Mikdadiye.

Initial information said that 12 people, mostly civilians, lost their lives and 15 were injured in the attack. As the attackers fled, security forces were dispatched to the area.

The Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi said on Twitter that a comprehensive operation has been launched.

In spite of the defeat of the ISIS terrorist group in Iraq, a number of members of this terrorist group are still present in different parts of the country and carry out terrorist acts in a scattered manner.
