Iraqi President: Iraq works toward having balanced relations strengthening international cooperation

On Tuesday, November 9, 2021, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih met with the Serbian ambassador to Iraq, Uroš Balov. The meeting took place at al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.

Iraqi-Serbian ties were discussed during the meeting and how to develop these relations in a way that better serves the two nations' interests and meets both peoples' aspirations.

Participants in the meeting spoke about the importance of further developing trade and economic ties between the two countries with focus on supporting investments.

Iraq's foreign policy basis on building a balanced relation that would enhance regional and international cooperation, Iraqi President Salih said, with aim to address common challenges presented by terrorism and corruption.
Therefore, there is an urgent need to work together to tackle climate change, and work toward maintaining peace and security in the region and calming tensions to bring peace here, he added.
