On Sunday, Nov 28, the Co-Leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Bafel Jalal Talabani, condemned in a statement the Islamic State assault on the Peshmerga forces in Kulajo district.

Five members of the Kurdish forces were killed after an improvised explosive device (IED) hit a unit of the Peshmerga forces.

On the attack, PUK Co-Leader said: “I look at the repetition of these terrorist attacks on the frontlines of the Peshmerga forces in the disputed territories with great concern,”

He added, "We need more plans, joint program and coordination, particularly the intensification of further joint work between the Peshmerga forces and Iraqi military to face ISIS remnants and hamper their movement, which have become a serious threat on those areas,”
