Bafel Jalal Talabani welcomed on Monday a delegation from the Coordination Framework, consisting of Nuri al-Maliki, head of the State of Law coalition, Hadi al-Amiri, head of the Fatah Alliance, and Qais Khazali, Secretary-General of the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq, in Baghdad.

The meeting focused on political and security situations and steps toward forming the new Iraqi government. They also evaluated the current developments and dialogues between the political parties aiming to reach an appropriate solution and bring the views closer to form a national consensus government that meets the current aspirations of all nationalities and components. The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Coordination Framework emphasized their insistence on solving political problems peacefully and saving the country from this situation, in a way that promotes stability and fraternity between Shiite, Kurdish, and Sunni forces and all other components. Talabani reiterated the enthusiasm of PUK for preserving national unity and forming a new government.
