Bafel Jalal Talabani conveyed a message on the 31st anniversary of the Erbil uprising, stating "PUK will continue to defend their rights,"

Bafel Talabani said, "On this glorious anniversary, we shall not forget the role of Mr. Kosrat Rasul as the leader of the Erbil uprising and remind ourselves that PUK has sacrificed its sons for the freedom of Erbil and prosperity of the people."

He added, "We promise the city's beloved people that we will defend your rights now more than ever."

Talabai asserted that PUK will confront any political and organizational discrimination that violates the rights of the people of Erbil and anywhere else in Kurdistan.
