Six missiles landed near an oil refinery in Erbil on Sunday, authorities in the Kurdistan Region said in a statement.
The missiles were launched from Nineveh province and fell near the KAR refinery, the authorities said without reporting any casualties or damage, according to Reuters.
The Region’s ministry of Peshmerga accused “outlaw groups” of attacking the area.
Kurdistan Region’s Security Council called on Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi to clear the area that becomes a “shelter for terrorists and gangsters”.
“They will pay the price,” it said in a statement. “We will cooperate with the federal government to confront and put an end to these sabotage acts.”
