On Thursday, May 12, Bafel Jalal Talabani received Elbrus Kutrashev, the Russian ambassador to Iraq.

The meeting touched upon addressing the political issues and the current situation in Iraq and Kurdistan Region.

Bafel Jalal Talabani expressed his view on the stagnant political situation in Iraq and stating, " PUK has been in favor of political understanding and consensus."

He added, "No force or party should be marginalized."

Talabani also asserted "In the name of the majority, the country cannot be taken in a bad direction and any attempt outside this national will is fruitless."

"There is still time for dialogue, we must resolve the issues on the basis of the constitution, real partnership, and form a service government that will lead the country towards political, economic and social stability, this has been our goal and all our efforts have been for that purpose." Talabani said.
