The Media Office of the Iraqi President, Barham Salih, issued a statement regarding the President's attitude towards the law of Anti-Israel normalization tie between Iraq and Israel.
Below is the context of the statement:
The Presidency of the Republic has already received the Iraqi Parliament's Anti-Israel normalization Law to complete the process of promulgation of the law and to be approved according to the legal and institutional mechanisms followed by the Office of the President.
It is, therefore, that the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih has ordered to deal with the Iraqi Parliament’s legislation that criminalizes the normalization of relations with Israel as the same as it was received without being amended or having any notes. It was published in the Official Gazette of Iraq (al- Waqa al Iraqiya) on June 20, 2022, to come into effect.
In this regard, we reaffirmed President Salih's unwavering stance that supports the Palestinian question towards fully realizing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and recapturing their homeland from Israeli occupation.
President Salih has over and over confirmed his attitude towards the Palestinian question at the national platforms and the international forums and the meetings of the UN General Assembly.
