Qubad Talabani addressed the Iraq's situation with Russian president's envoy

On Thursday Jan 30, 2020 deputy PM of Kurdistan Region, Qubad Talabani, welcomed Mikhail Bogdanov, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and envoy of the Russian President in the Middle East and Africa, with his accompanying delegation.

In the meeting, which was attended by a number of ministers in KRG, Talabani reiterated the important role that the Kurdistan Region plays in calming and containing the situation in the region, noting that “Kurdistan Region will not be part of any conflict, and it will not favor any one at the expense of the other.”, Stressing that "the Kurds will be part of the solution to these conflicts."

"The current status requires a unified position from the political parties in Iraq, the international community must play a more important role to ensure the stability of the situation” Talabani pointed out.

Another aspect of the meeting was to address the political situation in Syria and western Kurdistan, Bogdanov ensured that the rights of the Kurdish people in Syria shall be protected and terrorism shall not be allowed to reappear.
