The Mayor of Sulaimaniyah Governorate, Awat Muhammad  called on the residents on Thursday to stay home as much as possible and not leave if it is not necessary, stressing to avoid being in public places.

Mohamed said in a statement today, "We are going through a sensitive and critical stage and we call on citizens, in order to preserve their health, to avoid crowds and not to go to the funeral councils."

Sulaymaniyah District Commissioner called on the residents to abide strictly by the decisions and instructions announced by government agencies to reduce Corona virus.

Moreover, the Ministry of Interior in the Kurdistan Regional Government said in a statement: "Movement will be stopped in the cities of Erbil and Sulaymaniyah starting from Friday midnight until 48 hours to prevent infection with Corona virus."

"All citizens must remain in their homes so that health teams can perform their duties," the statement added.
